We live sustainability

Sustainability at KRISPOL is more than just a catchphrase. Responsibility for our employees, the environment, and economic stability have shaped KRISPOL’s corporate policy from the very beginning. It is at the core of our company values.

The UN has set 17 goals for sustainable development, which came into effect on January 1, 2016, with an initial target until 2030. These Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aim to ensure sustainable development on an economic, social, and ecological level worldwide.

For KRISPOL, these goals also serve as guidelines for sustainable development.

For a world without hunger and poverty

  • Participation in the STOP HUNGER campaign and co-financing of meals in the PAJACYK campaign of the Polish Humanitarian Organization
  • Support for the “Healing with Mission” campaign – a project for newborn care training – Newborn Life Support in the countries of the Global South
  • Financial support for the KASISI Foundation – Project House of Hope – the largest orphanage in Zambia
  • Participation in the “Friend of UNICEF” program in Poland
  • Long-term cooperation with the SOS Children’s Village association
  • Aid for Ukrainians after the outbreak of the war – providing 3 apartments, renovation, and furnishing them

For climate protection and a healthy environment

The protection of our natural environment and the responsible use of resources are topics we focus on intensively. Within the limits set for us, we strive to minimize energy consumption and environmental impact while increasing the use of renewable energy.

Clean water, clean air, clean energy

  • The water condensate generated during air compression is drained from the dryers and filtered in the separator – there is no pollution of groundwater with oils.
  • Construction of two photovoltaic systems at the production site in Września.
  • Replacement of lighting with LED in the shipping warehouse – approximately 50% energy savings in lighting.
  • 30-40% reduction in heating costs through the conversion of doors to high-speed doors, seals, and heat recovery.
  • Annual control measurements of VOC (volatile organic compounds) emissions from the paint shop, conducted by an accredited laboratory.

Measures in the area of climate

  • Reduction of waste generation during cutting
  • Optimization of packaging for STARCUS automation – elimination of styrofoam
  • Switching packaging for garage doors to cardboard with increased moisture resistance – elimination of plastic foil
  • Production of custom-made packaging for products – reduction of waste production, styrofoam
  • Recovery of nitro from the painting process through our own distillation plants
  • Participation in the “There is no Planet B” campaign in 2021 – handing over 40 tons of PVC waste – reducing CO2 emissions by 80 tons
  • Reduction of production waste
  • Despite annual increases in production, electricity consumption has decreased by 21.5% and gas consumption by 25% over three years
  • Change in vehicle packaging method – 50% more goods on the vehicle
  • Building local supply chains wherever possible
  • Circular economy: Supporting projects that promote recycling, material reuse, and waste reduction.

For good work, good education, and equal opportunities for all

In production, people continue to play an essential role despite all the advancements in digitalization. Without dedicated and motivated individuals, our business would be unimaginable. As a family-owned company, KRISPOL has always felt a special responsibility toward its employees—a responsibility we remain fully aware of and actively uphold.

  • All employees have an employment contract.
  • Almost 78% of the staff have a permanent employment contract.

  • Leadership development program that includes regular soft skills workshops for managers and production supervisors.
  • Employee development, qualification enhancement, individual talent promotion; co-financing of all forms of education related to the position held, including university and postgraduate studies.
  • Significant increase in the number of women employed in the company, from 19% to over 40%.

For sustainable production and use

Sustainable consumption and production aim to “do more and better with less.” In this way, the net gains in well-being from economic activities can increase by reducing resource use, degradation, and pollution throughout the entire life cycle, while simultaneously improving quality of life.

A key focus is also placed on the supply chain, involving all parties from producers to end consumers. This includes, among other things, educating consumers about sustainable consumption and lifestyles, providing appropriate information through standards and labels, and participating in sustainable public procurement.

In recent years, KRISPOL has undertaken a variety of initiatives to support these goals.

  • Sustainable Transport: Optimization of vehicle loading

  • Sustainable Product Development: Working on the development of products that are more environmentally friendly and improve the energy efficiency of buildings

  • Confirmation of Product Quality through Certification, for example:

    • CE Marking: Indicates that the product has been tested by the manufacturer and found to meet EU requirements for health, safety, and environmental protection

    • LTB: The Laboratory for Building Technology is an entity accredited by the Polish Centre for Accreditation (PCA) (www.pca.gov.pl), conducting tests according to the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018-02 standard

    • ITB: A research institute conducting studies in construction and related fields, focused on practical application

    • TÜV SÜD

    • ift Rosenheim: Institute for research and certification of building products, safety technology, and protective equipment

    • PKN: Polish Committee for Standardization
